Tea at the Inn
1818 Tea at the Inn
June 13, 2026
12 noon – 2 pm
The Inn was a focal point for early Kingsport, a gathering place for many travelers and locals alike. Many social occasions took place on a weekly basis due to 18 stagecoaches stopping and travelers refreshing themselves and eating a home cooked meal.
In 1818 when Mr. Richard Netherland moved his family into the Inn, our nation had a different look and feel, we were a very young nation and carrying on some of the British traditions while creating our new American traditions. We hope you enjoy the beauty of the Netherland Inn’s formal dining and sitting rooms just as Mrs. Netherland did while entertaining her guests in 1818.
